Throughout its longstanding partnership with the Long Island Red Cross, Rallye Auto Group President and CEO Joseph Stanco has been an instrumental part of the dealer group’s continued support of the organization. In honor of his service, the Long Island Red Cross has announced that Mr. Stanco is the 2014 recipient of the Long Island Humanitarian Award.
“We worked together with Joe for a while now, and the nature of his character and his willingness to give back to the community make him an ideal recipient of this award,” said John Miller, CEO of the American Red Cross on Long Island. “He has a tremendous heart, and he’s a tremendous human being.”
The Long Island Red Cross presents the Humanitarian Award to individuals who have made a significant impact in Long Island and exemplify the organization’s core values. It is also based on an individual’s total body of work within the community, focusing on those who give of their own time and talent and encourage others to do the same.
“It is truly an honor to receive this award from such a great organization, but this is really a team effort,” Mr. Stanco said. “Many of our customers and employees have lent us a hand in giving back to the community we’ve been in for over 55 years. For that, I am truly grateful.”
Mr. Stanco will receive the award at the Long Island Red Cross 2014 Red & White Dinner Dance on Thursday, April 10. The dinner dance, which is an annual event, will be held at Carlyle on the Green in Farmingdale, N.Y.
Rallye Auto Group and its five locations in Long Island host many blood drives for the Red Cross throughout the year, including two coming up in March. Additionally, over 50 Rallye employees recently signed up with the Red Cross’ unique Ready When the Time Comes program, which trains designated members of corporations and community groups as disaster relief volunteers.
Rallye Auto Group’s support of the Red Cross is part of its ongoing charitable initiative to give back to the Long Island community. Rallye also lends its support to St. Mary’s Children’s Hospital, Swim Across America, Relay For Life, Roslyn Little League and many other non-profit organizations. Most recently, Rallye partnered with the Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association to support the 2013 New York Cares Coat Drive, with all five locations serving as collection centers.
